After we’ve all had a good chuckle over Lindsay’s disastrous turn as a fashion designer, let’s stop and examine her collection for Ungaro again. Is it really, really, really as bad as all that? Are there things in her collection that might actually be wearable? Yes. No. Maybe. I think I might be experiencing some knee-jerk sympathy for her, because I’m actually digging the pieces I’ve highlighted here. If I was 20 years younger and 40 pounds lighter, I would totally rock every one of them. I don’t even mind the glittery heart stickers on the head. In fact, I think we should all start wearing stickers on faces to support Lindsay in her hour of desperation. I really like the “’70s-disco-meets-’40s-glamour” of the first one. And I love the dramatic shape of the capelet and the pink-and-purple candy tones of the second one. And as for the other two: yeah, sure. Why not? So maybe the whole collection is a bit “Contempo Casual” for the venerable House Of Ungaro, but I’m not entirely sure the whole thing is a wash. What do YOU think? (t/y Steven)
