I might be a little late to the party on this one, but WHATWHATWAT IS GOING ON at the Gain detergent headquarters that they greenlit this incredibly bizarre commercial? In it, a slumbering dad is pranked by his two kids who dig a jockstrap out of the laundry and place it on his face. But instead of being offended by the smell of sweaty old balls, the father smiles and cuddles up to it, because… it’s been washed with Gain, see. The young boys then decide to sniff the jockstrap as well, and by this point you’re head is probably exploding because OMG, REALLY? I mean, I love sniffing a jockstrap as much as the next queen, but it seems an incredibly odd choice for a national ad campaign.
I’m not alone in this. Twitter has been having a field day.

The #Gains Flings commercial showing the son sniffing his sleeping dad’s jockstrap for a prank he’s trying to pull is the creepiest thing I have seen all year! And it’s July! #WhoApprovedThis #AdvertisingFail pic.twitter.com/788PmBCsoF

Anyone else seen that Gain commercial where the young boys put a jock strap on their dads face while he’s sleeping in the hopes that it’ll repulse him, but he likes it?
The gays really are winning, huh

Gain, your jock strap commercial is pretty nasty. Even my husband was appalled.

So has anyone seen the Gain laundry soap commercial where the little boys smell their father’s jock strap?? Am I the only person that thinks this is totally creepy? Whoever claims concept/marketing for this commercial needs a different job? They could… https://t.co/gEzhLBGSFF

Unless my eyes and ears deceive me, I just saw a #Gain commercial with a sleeping Dad happily dreaming as he’s sniffing his jockstrap, and then his two young sons show up and one of them sniffs the jockstrap too. #weirdshitonTV #allinthefamily #commercial #homoeroticism #sniff

And on and on into the night.
