John Travolta plays a rabid fan obsessed with a frankly-still-very-hot Devon Sawa (Casper, Idle Hands, Final Destination, Stan in Eminem‘s “Stan” video) and eventually destroys the star’s life. The Fanatic is directed by Fred Durst, yes THAT Fred Durst, and as one commenter put it, looks to be for people who found Misery to be too cerebral. I’m still vaguely intrigued, as much as I loathe two-thirds of this equation.

The Fanatic will be given a limited theatrical release on August 30, followed by a release on streaming platforms.
