SNL cast member Cecily Strong has left the building…
A cold open featured Strong as Kimberly Guilfoyle selling her Christmas album –an idea that an NFT-hawking Trump did not like.
Strong later appeared on Weekend Update as Cathy Anne, telling the audience through tears,
It’s just my time now. But I had a lot of fun here, and I feel really lucky that I got to have so many of the best moments of my life in this place, with these people that I love so much…”
Over her 11 years on the show, Strong was one of show’s funniest performers with iconic impersonations from Lana Del Rey to Jeanine Pirro.
The final sketch featured the cast giving Strong another goodbye, this one even tearier.
Set in a Radio Shack, it featured Kenan Thompson as the store’s boss saying goodbye to Cecily.
This is Cecily’s last day working at Radio Shack after eight incredible years.”
Strong said,
Well, I’ve been here eleven.”
Thompson said,
I know – and eight were incredible…”
Watch.
