Of course someone had to do it eventually. Two live diamondback rattlesnakes were released into a Desert Ridge, Arizona, movie theater during a showing of Snakes on a Plane, causing some amount of verisimilitudinous excitement in the audience, though no one was bitten. The reptiles were eventually wrangled and released into the desert, but the human reptiles are still at large. Mark at Defamer supposes it’s actually a new marketing ploy by New Line to create word-of-mouth buzz in areas of the country where the film is underperforming. We think it’s very William Castle.
