MAGA-spewing FOX News correspondent Dr Drew made it an emphatic point to downplay the coming coronavirus pandemic and belittle anybody who took precautions against it. In clip after clip (below), he says it’s just like the flu, it’s a hoax, a “press-induced panic,” go about your lives, that the chances of dying from it are lower than being “hit by an asteroid.” – all the standard crap Trumpsters were saying last month to prop up their idol.
Thank you, Yashar Ali for making this go viral.
Dr. Drew is a snake oil salesman. Really terrible stuff here. What a disgrace. pic.twitter.com/Eh35Ky8yVO— Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) April 4, 2020
Of course, he changed his tune about a week ago and began pretending (like all FOX talking heads are) that he’s been taking it VERY SERIOUSLY ALL ALONG.
“I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. I wear a mask outside now. And it’s paid dividends. It is improving– It is flattening the curve,” he said. “And I’m delighted to be a part of that. I’m glad to be a part of that.”
He’s even gone so far as to APOLOGIZE for deliberately misleading the public.
“My early comments about equating coronavirus with influenza were wrong. They were incorrect,” Dr. Drew said on Saturday. “I was part of a chorus that was saying that, and we were wrong. And I want to apologize for that.”
“I wish I had gotten it right, but I got it wrong,” he said in a new video shared to Twitter.
He went on to say that one thing he did not get wrong was to emphasize that we should all be looking to Dr. Fauci for guidance. “He was my guiding star in the AIDS epidemic and he should be your star now.”
On the one hand, you VERY RARELY, if ever, hear a Fox news personality/Trump loyalist actually say they were wrong. That’s newsworthy, in and of itself, and the only reason I’m giving this story any oxygen. So…. props to him for that?
However, he’s still one of the worst people on the planet, and….
