Candace Cameron Bure shared this image on Instagram. Now, RDR-watchers know whose catch-phrase is, but does Bure?
Bianca Del Rio picked up on this right away and re-shared the image, followed by devils and black heart emojis.
“If only, this Republican homophobe knew.”
Del Rio’s fans quickly trolled Bure, going in on her, pointing out that “the irony is thick” and that she needs to “look up where that quote comes from.”
Bure responded to Del Rio,
“Why do you have to be nasty to me? You don’t know me or my heart. I’m not homophobic and always sad when people think otherwise. Loving Jesus doesn’t mean I hate gay people or anyone. You sent a bunch of hateful people to my page writing horrible things. I hope next time you’ll spread love and kindness, even when you disagree with people. Sending you love and wish you all the best.”
Bure says she is a NOT anti-gay, but her history kinda proves the contrary. According to Unicorn Booty,
• In 2012, Bure made it clear where she stands on the Chick-Fil-A anti-gay marriage issue. She posted a photo to her Twitter account showing herself and her son proudly holding up Chick-Fil-A items with the caption, “We love chikin!”
• Bure’s anti-LGBT views were also exposed on The View during her infamous debate about a bakery in Oregon that had the right to refuse to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding. Raven Symoné argued the bakery had discriminated against the couple, but Bure defended their actions saying,
“[The bakery had] baked cakes for [the couple]previously. They had a problem with the actual ceremony because that—the ceremony—is what conflicted with their religious beliefs. They are saying that they stand for marriage between a man and a woman.”
• When The View began again after the summer break, in September 2015, Bure was absent from a key panel discussion about Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who refused to administer marriage licenses to gay couples in her county. She awkwardly joined the panel later in the show. Avoidance?
• In 2016, when discussing the spirituality of Hillary Clinton, Bure went up against Michael Moore. She said,
“With some of [Hillary Clinton’s] positions, I don’t believe she lives it. For those people that really look to the Bible, understanding her positions is very difficult.”
Moore shot back,
“What I would say to the people who are against abortion is, if you are against it, don’t have one. If you are against gay marriage, don’t get gay married. You won’t like it. It’s not for you. But live and let live. You live your faith the way you believe you should live it.”
Her history on gay issues does speak for itself, I think. Lesson learned Cadance? Probably not, but DO NOT come for Bianca even by accident, or there will be hell to pay!
