It’s like Arianna Huffington got together with all her little friends and said, “Hey, kids, let’s put on a show. I’ve got the space and you guys can write something and we’ll all sing and dance and, oh, it will be so much fun!” And it turned out to be so much fun it went to Broadway. The Huffster’s dream-come-true blog, The Huffington Post, finally launched today. With regular contributors Ellen DeGeneres, David Mamet, Harry Shearer (“My name is Harry. I’ll be your server,” begins his Eat the Press), Mike Nichols, Brad Hall and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (on gay marriage: “Now, when I come home to my wife, I feel nothing. How could I? SHE COULD BE A MAN. Thanks a lot, gays”), and others, it’s a less depressing, sweeter smelling, showbizzy alternative to the Drudge Report, with similar links to news and gossip.
