The ‘Car-bob’ artwork of eight automobiles skewered on a steel pipe, made famous in the 1992 film Wayne’s World, is coming down. Officially known as the Spindle, the Berwyn, IL sculpture has been given the chop to make room for a Walgreens. Originally hated by local residents, the landmark came to be loved as it became something of a Mecca for Wayne’s World fans worldwide. Dustin Shuler, who came up with the idea by playing with toy cars, said of the design: “I just thought it was cool.” (Source)
