You’ve heard of Dodgeball, haven’t you? It’s Dennis Crowley’s meet-now concept that makes Friendster seem like a church mixer. All you need is a cellphone and a dream. In an interview with gothamist, Crowley says in 10 days the service will launch in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia P.A. We’ll be dancing in the streets.
The idea is pretty simple: use your cell phone to tell us where you are and we’ll broadcast your location to all your friends. If any friends-of-friends are within 10 blocks of you, we’ll ping you both with a message (and a photo of if you’ve got a camera phone) encouraging you to meet up.
