To the uninitiated, a strap-on dildo is a fairly simple device, a small step up in sophistication from a regular dildo. But did you know that strap-ons aren’t sold pre-assembled, ready to roll straight out of the box? And that one little bit of info could be the difference between unleashing a night of wild sexual discovery or a nightmare of frustration and crushed hopes, where you’re flailing around with a half-built strap-on wondering where it all went wrong.
Fortunately, there’s Debbie Does Dallas…Again, World of Wonder’s new seven-part documentary series about Vivid Entertainment’s attempt to re-make one of the greatest adult films of all time. Suffice it to say, the folks at Vivid know a thing or two about assembling a strap-on, and they’d never get caught with their pants down and their strap-on in pieces all over the floor. In fact, in episode one, Vivid’s production manager Shailar demonstrates proper strap-on construction technique, building a hot-pink behemoth with the dexterity and craftsmanship of a true artiste. By his own admission, Shailar has built 1,000 strap-ons, so a certain level of competency is to be expected – but it’s still impressive. Who says TV isn’t educational? And with all the back-stabbing, bitchy in-fighting, and dirty trickery going on in this series, you might’ve ended up missing the strap-on sequence if we hadn’t pointed it out here.
Debbie Does Dallas…Again premieres Friday, March 9 at 11pm on a premium cable network .
