Have you seen the latest issue of Frontiers that has the interview with the Scissor Sisters? The sisters show their love for RuPaul’s Drag Race and discuss wanting to work with Ru. Check out this excerpt from the interview:
A couple weeks ago, Scissor Sisters performed at Bowery Ballroom in New York and you guys had a special guest onstage.
Jake Shears: Miss Sharon Needles! Let me put Babydaddy on the phone to tell you about that.
Babydaddy: Hello! Yeah, we love our Drag Race! We love it. So, we were doing a show at the Bowery Ballroom, which is a special place to play for us, and we just said, “Listen, Sharon, do you want to jump onstage with us and do anything?”—you know, on a whim. And fortunately she was available. It was amazing—so much fun.
What are your thoughts on the Drag Race season that just ended?
Babydaddy: I think it was the best season yet—I thought it was so good. I have been begging to get Ana [Matronic] on the show, and I don’t know what the problem is, but hopefully it’ll happen next season. This season was hilarious, and I think there were a couple people who could be real stars. I also want Latrice Royale and Chad Michaels to get their own TV show together.
Have you guys ever considered collaborating with RuPaul?
Babydaddy: We’ve never thought about it, but we would! We would if she was interested. We don’t have a relationship with her at all.
Well maybe this interview will be all it takes to fix that!
Babydaddy: [Laughs] Exactly! She’s a legend, and it doesn’t get any better than that. [Puts Jake back on the phone]
Jake Shears: Babydaddy’s definitely the more qualified person to talk about Drag Race.
Wouldn’t a Scissor Sisters and RuPaul track set you free? How ’bout it, Ru? And isn’t Babydaddy just the most handsomest man you’ve ever seen? You can read the full interview with the Scissor Sisters on Frontiers‘ website here.
