An all-star benefit at NYC’s Webster Hall to help pay medical bills for legendary New York scenester and journalist Stephen Saban will feature a rock supergroup made up of members from Blondie, MC5, The Replacements, and The Heartbreakers.
The newly formed supergroup will perform the legendary Heartbreakers album L.A.M.F. — which was recorded in 1977 — and established the band as godfathers of punk rock. They had previously played alongside The Clash, Buzzcocks, and The Sex Pistols on their Anarchy in the U.K. tour.
From Tiny Mix Tapes:
Stephen Saban raised the profiles of countless musicians and artists, spotlighting some of the era’s greatest stars as he chronicled the New York party scene. Saban later moved to Los Angeles, where he worked for World of Wonder Productions (creator of hits like RuPaul’s Drag Race and Million Dollar Listing). Last year, Saban was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent complex surgery.
The show starts at 8 PM in the Marlin Room at Webster Hall. The event is 18 and up. Tickets are $30. Get yours here.
The show also features appearances by Lenny Kaye, Bush Tetras, Marilyn, and others.
Much love to Stephen, and I hope you raise a million dollars!
