When a certain scene involving a giant butt plug, a hustler, and two very nasty johns, came on the screen at the Sauvage screening in Cannes, several women left the theater in disgust. Director Camille Vidal-Naquet’s provocative new film about the life of a 22-year-old gay hustler has made headlines ever since, and now FINALLY, we can all watch the trailer for the film and decide for ourselves. Sexy? Disturbing? Too much? Or sexy, disturbing AND too much?
Says the director:
“It wouldn’t be honest to make a movie about prostitution without talking about these kinds of things,” said the director. “There are clients who can absolutely dehumanize you and treat you like a total object on the pretext that they’ve paid you and they own you. I found that so violent.”
The mesmerizing Félix Maritaud’s (the breakout star of last year’s BPM) is Leo, the male prostitute who lives on the streets and experiences catastrophic hardship and heartbreak.
