Some of you may recall my post on Obama’s supposedly “evolving” position on marriage equality. Shortly before the mid-term elections Obama stated that his position was evolving but refused to back away from his statement that he does not support gay marriage. Which is comical in and of itself since Obama was on record as a senate candidate in Illinois as being fully supportive of marriage equality. But he changed his position to that of supporting so-called separate but equal civil-unions instead once he decided to run for President. Make no mistake, extremely politically expedient he is! It’s all about which way the wind blows best for Obama. LGBT reporter Kerry Eleveld tried to pin down Obama in an interview yesterday as to how his evolution on marriage equality is going and once again President Obama refused to budge. “I’m not going to make more news today” Obama said and then renewed his support for second class status marriage rights for gays through civil-unions. When Eleveld tried to press the president for a timeline for “getting there” Obama replied “I’m going to stick with my answer.” One has to assume he means his latest answer on marriage equality and not his original position he espoused as a senate candidate. Just like Obama’s hypocrisy, the wheels on the bus go round and round! (via JoeMyGod)
