Actor/model/nightlife personality Harry Hains has died at the age of 27. His mother, Australian actress Jane Badler, confirmed the news Thursday on an Instagram post.
“On Jan 7 my beautiful son died,” she wrote. “He was 27 and had the world at his feet.”
She went on to say that he had “struggled with mental illness and addiction,” but did not reveal the cause of his death.
“A brilliant spark shone bright too short a time .. I will miss you Harry every day of my life.”
Hains, who modeled and appeared in shows such as The OA, The Deleted, and American Horror Story: Hotel, was also a musician who performed under the moniker ANTIBODY.
He spoke about his gender identity in an interview in the UK-based magazine Boys By Girls last year:
“If I had to pick a label it would be in the realm of gender fluid,” Hains told the outlet. “I know that I am born male but I don’t think I represent what it means to be a man.
“I believe we should be whatever we want. It gets kind of confusing when we start labelling ourselves so I try to stay away from labels. I believe we should be whatever we want. It gets kind of confusing when we start labeling ourselves so I try to stay away from labels.”
Rest in Power, Harry.
There will be a memorial service for Hains at Hollywood Forever cemetery this Sunday (Jan, 12).
