Gorgeous Beverly Owen, who was the first actress to play the “hideously ugly” Munster family niece Marilyn on the 1960s series The Munsters, died on February 21 after battling ovarian cancer. She was 81. Beverly starred in the first season of the show before leaving to marry producer Jon Stone.
Pat Priest took over for Beverley and starred as Marilyn for the remainder of the series.
Butch Patrick, who played little Eddie Munster, shared the news on Facebook, saying:
“Beautiful Beverley Owen has left us. What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her. RIP Bev and thanks for your 13 memorable Marilyn Munster episodes.”
Beverley’s pre-Munsters TV gigs include As the World Turns back in 1956, The Doctors, Kraft Mystery Theater, Wagon Train, The Virginian, Another World and Bullet for a Badman.
What a beauty.
