I had never heard of 19-year-old tennis sensation Borna Coric of Croatia until today, but I’m definitely liking what I see. According to Tennis TV:

He is one of just three teenagers in the ATP’s Top 100 and has already notched more than 50 tour-level wins, including an eyebrow-raising triumph over Rafael Nadal in Basel when he was only 17.

He’ll play in a first round matchup tomorrow against Gilles Simon, which Tennis Atlantic thinks he’ll win in an upset.

Both players are steady baseliners, and when they met last year Simon won in three sets. Neither has been in great form recently, and the experienced Simon probably has the edge in this match. Coric has the ability to win it though, and this would be a nice scalp for the young gun as he represents his country in Rio. I’m going with Coric in an upset.
