Brit rocker and occasional avant-garde artist Pete Doherty missed another court date on Friday. Fronting his band Babyshambles in Hamburg, Germany, meant he couldn’t appear in front of a London judge for his drug rehabilitation review. Not one to play favorites, Doherty also didn’t show up for the band’s gig in Cologne on Tuesday (although there are conflicting reports that he did show up – in a dress, red bra, and fetching wig, bless him). The British legal system would seem to be really patient. Doherty’s drug high jinks are becoming as legendary as those of Sid Vicious and Keith Richards, yet Doherty keeps getting away with what amounts to slaps on the wrists instead of cuffs. After this recent no-show, his court date was merely pushed up to June because, according to The Mirror’s 3am Girls, “Thames magistrates heard the musician could not attend due to work commitments. Last month he failed to appear because he got stuck in Paris after a gig.” Stuck in Paris? We didn’t even know they were dating.
