If you remember the man with arguably the worst job in ’70s advertising – the tiny Ty-D-Bol spokesman who dressed like a skipper and went motorboating in a toilet tank – then, well, that’s what he is now, just a memory. Dan Resin, who might be better remembered by some as Dr Beeper in 1980’s Caddyshack, died Saturday in Wayne, New Jersey. He was 79 and suffered from Parkinson’s disease. As well as appearing in hundreds of television commercials, the trained actor also played on Broadway in productions of Once Upon a Mattress and, somewhat appropriately, Woody Allen’s Don’t Drink the Water.
