Fifty-two years before Daniel Craig emerged from the ocean in a Speedo as a smoldering secret agent in last year’s Casino Royale, the handsome and prolific award-winning stage, television, and movie star Barry Nelson beat all the future James Bonds to the punch, emerging as 007’s very first portrayer in a live TV production of Casino Royale, Ian Fleming’s first Bond novel. While traveling last week, Nelson died in a hotel in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 89. No cause of death has been released but we assume it was from being 89. (Source)
