“Nice guy” cofounder and lead singer of the ’70s adult-contemporary rock band Boston, Brad Delp, was found dead yesterday at his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire. He was 55. Police discovered no evidence of foul play, ruling the death “untimely.” Boston’s self-titled 1976 album, which featured the song “More Than a Feeling,” became the best-selling debut album of all time, exceeding 17 million copies just in the US. “He was the most humble guy you’d want to meet. He had no rock star attitude, he had no problem mingling with the crowd. He’d talk to fans for hours,” said a local Atkinson musician. For the last 14 years, Delp was involved in his Beatles tribute band, Beatlejuice, an all-consuming passion. Boston reunited and performed in 2006 and were scheduled to tour with REO Speedwagon this year. (More)
