Kathryn Gemme, who had been a Red Sox fan for 95 years and saw Babe Ruth play, died last Friday at a nursing home in Middleborough, Massachusetts. She was 112. In 1912, the 18-year-old saw her first baseball game at Fenway Park not long after the field opened. And in May of 2004, at 109, she saw her last game and met catcher Jason Varitek. For her 111th birthday, Red Sox officials brought the 2004 World Series trophy to her party. (Newsday)
