We would be remiss and remorseful if we didn’t mention, even belatedly, the passing of two ladies of the big and little screens. Emmy-winning actress Jane Wyatt (left), who appeared as the iconic 1950s mother, Margaret Anderson, in 207 episodes (1954-60) of the classic TV sitcom Father Knows Best, died Friday of natural causes at home in Bel Air. She was 96. She also appeared in the films Lost Horizon and Gentleman’s Agreement. Phyllis Kirkegaard, who later became actress Phyllis Kirk (right) and starred in the first 3-D film, 1953’s The House of Wax, died Thursday from a post cerebral aneurysm at the Motion Picture and Television Hospital in Los Angeles. She was 79. She also appeared with Jerry Lewis in The Sad Sack and on television with Peter Lawford in the series The Thin Man.
