Very sad here at the WOW Report over the loss of Marion Crane, er, Janet Leigh, who died yesterday in Beverly Hills. The 77-year-old star had been suffering recently from vasculitis, an inflammation of the blood vessels. Although it was Hitchcock’s Psycho that rightfully rocketed her to permanent cultdom (yes, the shower scene – but don’t overlook that brilliant chicken sandwich scene in Norman’s office), she was also magnificent in such classics as Touch of Evil and The Manchurian Candidate. And we’re partial to 1949’s Holiday Affair, a Christmas-in-New York story in which she starred with Robert Mitchum. (deathbeeper.com)
