Todd Phillips, one of Hollywood’s most bankable filmmakers has put his lavish Beverly Hills compound on the market for exactly twice the price he paid for it.
Since Phillips made The Hangover films, Phillips has produced A Star Is Born, which has taken in up almost $450 million in worldwide gross against (on a budget of $36 million) He also directed and produced the mega-hit The Joker, which has raked in over a BILLION since its ’19 release. Phillips is currently writing and producing a sequel to The Joker.
On slightly more than three-quarters of an acre, the multi-structure compound has two separate pieces anchored by a sprawling Spanish Colonial revival estate designed in 1928 by the premiere architect of that style, Wallace Neff.
With 7 bedrooms and 8 full and 4 half baths, many original details have been preserved and restored. A two-story pool-side structure houses the garage and a second-floor home office/guest suite with fireplace. Another two-story building has two more guest suites above a screening room, done up in movie palace style in rich red velvet.
Paradigm Talent Agency chairman Sam Gores sold the property in May of 2012 for $17.25 million. Multiple x 2 = current listing price of $34.5 million.
Have a look around….
