The Administration has formally moved to revoke California’s authority to set its own vehicle emissions standards, a decision certain to provoke a significant legal challenge.
The announcement was made with Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao. Whenever I see or read about Elaine, I am forced to imagine her husband Moscow Mitch McConnell putting it inside of her, and then I need a drink.
Chao said the decision:
“…ensures no state has the authority to opt out of the nation’s rules, and no state has the right to impose its policies on the rest of the country”.
Andrew Wheeler, the Blathering Orange Sniffler’s choice for head of the Environmental Protection Agency claims the decision ensures nationwide rules that provide:
“….much-needed regulatory certainty for the automotive industry and promote economic growth by reducing the price of new vehicles to help more Americans purchase newer, cleaner, and safer cars and trucks”.
It looks to me like the whole thing is an act of political retribution; our Failed Mail-Order Meat Salesman president lives just to un-do the accomplishments of the 44th POTUS, and this decision to roll back fuel-efficiency standards set under Barack Obama must taste delicious to the Narcissistic Human Airhorn president.
California’s handsome LGBTQ-advocate Governor, Gavin Newsom, tweeted soon after the announcement:
“See you in court.”
POTUS criticized California as he returned to Washington from a two-day fundraising visit, blaming California’s “liberal establishment” for a surge in homelessness. President Stubby Baby Fingers said:
“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco. They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell.”
We have such a fun administration, Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, claimed that California’s policies on law enforcement, the state’s over-regulated housing market and sanctuary cities had driven up housing costs while increasing demand. Carson (who once separated conjoined twins) wrote:
“You seek more federal dollars for California from hard-working American taxpayers but fail to admit that your state and local policies have played a major role in creating the current crisis.”
