Jimmy Kimmel has a real thing for Ted Cruz. In June, the Texas senator and the late-night host played a cranky one-on-one basketball game for charity, where Kimmel called Cruz a ”blobfish” and attacked him on the court for failing to oppose the Trump’s family-separation policy at the Mexican border.
Cruz is facing a tough re-election fight against my boo, Beto O’Rourke, and on Monday evening Cruz campaigned alongside POTUS, his former nemesis. When they were rivals for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, Trump dubbed Cruz ”Lyin’ Ted”, claimed that Cruz’s wife Heidi was so ugly, she was unfuckable, and that Cruz’s father was in on the murder of John F. Kennedy. Kimmel ridiculed Cruz for asking Trump for help anyway.
Kimmel:
”Imagine how hilarious it will be if Ted Cruz is forced to kiss his bully’s ass in front of the whole world, and then loses anyway. Come on, I mean, if nothing else, do it for comedy’s sake.”
Over on NBC, Seth Meyers, back from a week off from Late Night With Seth Meyers after he guest-hosted Saturday Night Live, also weighed in:
”President Trump told reporters today that he gets along well with Senator Ted Cruz, saying, quote, ‘He’s not Lyin’ Ted anymore, he’s Beautiful Ted’. Dude, if that’s Beautiful Ted, then you’re Lyin’ Donald.'”
