Willard Mitt Romney is a United States Senator from Utah since January 2019. He previously was the Governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and was the GOP’s nominee for President of the United States in the 2012 election.
In 2016, Romney said of Trump:
He is a phony, a fraud. He’s playing the American public for suckers. If we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.
In response Trump dismissed Romney as a “choke artist”. Trump endorsed Romney’s 2018 senate campaign.
On Tuesday, a video went viral showing Romney celebrating his 72nd birthday by blowing out the candles on his birthday cake, which was made entirely of Twinkies. Instead of blowing out all the candles in a single breath, he lifted each individual candle to his pretty mouth and blew them out one by one. You can see his staff members awkwardly giggle as Romney blows out the first few candles, before a very uncomfortable silence sets in. Here is what The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah had to say, watch:
The craziest part of this video is that Romney spent decades as a member of a religion that believed in white supremacy. He is also a guy who strapped a dog to the roof of his car, owns a dancing horse, and has an elevator for his car.
