Proud Boys tried to crash a drag queen story hour in Greenwich Village on Sunday afternoon and didn’t go so well for them…
Nearly 200 showed up at The Center for the event hosted by New York Attorney General Letitia James, which lead to some clashes between protesters outside.
Proud Boys came in pro-Trump gear with flags, and tried to disrupt the celebration. New Yorkers made a lot of noise to shut down their efforts.
In a video that went viral on social media, counter-protesters can be heard shouting,
Go home! Proud Boys are not welcome in New York!”
One Proud Boy with a bloody face says to camera,
I came here to help, not to get the shit beaten out of me!”
Fuck around and find out, I guess? According to the New York Post, an
anti-drag story protester [was] arrested for assaulting a pro-drag agitator.”
Don’t get it twisted. As RuPaul said recently,
Drag queens are the marines of the LGBTQ movement!”
