Yesterday was my final day in Cannes and, aside from my being deathly ill, this has been one of WOW’s most successful trips to the MIP Market yet!
Last night, the United Talent Agency boys once again hosted a wonderful dinner with great people, this time at Le Baoli (below). At the restaurant, I ran into my fabulous friend Anthony Kimble and we set off for some late night drinks at the Martinez.
As I was leaving the Martinez, I noticed someone following me out through the revolving doors. He was a giant, he was a boxer, but I couldn’t remember his name, so in an awkward, drunken slur I said, “Oh ma gawd you’re. . .!” And he replied, “Yes, yes I am.” He said he was here for the Market (probably for The Contender?). So I asked for a pic with him and he was very sweet and obliged. As he walked away, I asked the valet if that was the totally famous boxer guy and he said, “Mais bien sur! It eez Evander Holyfield!” Ah ha. . . not a big boxing fan, but would have recognized George Foreman – I have the grill.
Alas, I am thoroughly exhausted and look forward to getting a full eight hours of sleep tonight – and thinking about the fantastic tall English boy who says he’ll be coming out to visit moi soon. Sigh.
Au revoir for now mes amis!
