Popeyes first announced their new chicken sandwich on Twitter earlier this month, people were all over the idea and the hype spread fast. Now we have an all-out brand war between Popeyes, Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s –all vying for the chicken sandwich throne.
Hence, even more hype, with restaurants reporting that they’d sold out of the sandwich. Regardless of which sandwich you prefer, Popeyes doesn’t have the same controversy surrounding its political leanings.
Arby’s wanted to get in on the action too, but then Wendy’s shut that down…
I’m not a flesh eater, so, I’m not interested in ANY kind of chicken sandwich, so I say wait in line for Burger King‘s new Impossible Whopper if you’re going to get fast food. (No waiting at all actually, I was on the road yesterday and got one in a drive-through in upstate New York and it was DELISH!)
The new Impossible Whopper contains 0% meat, but Burger King does acknowledges that the Impossible patties are flame-grilled on the same broiler as its chicken and beef products so it will likely come into contact with bits of meat and poultry in the process. (It wouldn’t be that hard to grill them in the same spot on the grill, but I not bothered bt the idea THAT much.)
No animals are killed in the making, which is what matters to me and it’s a somewhat healthier alternative. The Amazon rainforest is burning and cow farts are destroying the planet, so I say it’s a viable option as billions CANNOT continue to eat meat forever.
Vegans and vegetarians, if you’re ready for that long-awaited STROKE, enjoy the “Impossible Whopper.” It has no meat and a mere 1080 mg. of sodium.🤣 pic.twitter.com/ghLeNxw1Qh— HaveToTakeATrump (@HaveToTakeATru2) August 1, 2019
