A Pittsburgh area woman, whose name was not disclosed by the press for security reasons, became alarmed when she noticed odd goings-on in her house. Little things like the toilet lid being up when it’s just her and her daughters in the house… and a blanket on the floor in the basement… She considered calling the police, but then what would she tell them? That she found a blanket on the floor? It wasn’t until she heard a noise coming from upstairs and decided to investigate. At first she thought it was just her cat, but when she opened the bedroom door she found her ex-boyfriend standing in the middle of the room. He rushed towards her and grabbed her by the face, but she was able to fight him off, ran outside and creamed for her neighbors to call 911.

When police arrived, they found the abusive ex-boyfriend hiding under a pile of clothes, inside the house. He told officers he had been sleeping in the attic because he “was tired of being homeless and wanted a place to stay”. The problem was that the woman had had an active restraining order against him, which he had clearly not respected.
The man has been charged with burglary and unlawful restraint and is being held in Allegheny County Jail until his court date.
