Trump returned to the White House last night in dramatic fashion…
After receiving in-hospital treatment following a positive COVID-19 test, Trump took off his mask and posed on a balcony for a photo op that looked a lot like a scene from Evita.
Evita is, of course, about Eva Perón, wife of Argentinian President Juan Perón, the show features Evita begging her nation’s citizens to not “keep your distance” in the big balcony scene.
Did you know that the show is Trump’s favorite musical? yes! Trump wrote in his 2004 book Trump: Think Like a Billionaire,
“My favorite Broadway show is Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber, starring Patti LuPone. I saw it six times, mostly with Ivana.”
Well, Patti is NOT a big Trump fan, and as the originator of the role, she just had to weigh in on Trump’s Evita moment tweeting,
“I still have the lung power and I wore less makeup. This revival is closing November 3rd.”
Ouch.
