Wide-eyed celebuspawn Paris Jackson was dragged on social media for plucking a young rabbit from the wild on Thursday.
“This is Toke Skywalker,” the 18-year-old shared on Instagram. “I found him in the garden. i am now on my way to petco to get this lil guy a home.”
That didn’t sit well with many of her followers
“Please check for a nest…if you take him out of the wild and he’s still nursing, he will die.” and the more direct ones such as: “Put him back!!!”
User @failkoalasauce wrote: “Um you’re definitely not supposed to take baby bunnies unless they’re injured. Moms only come by to feed them. Now that it smells like a human the mom definitely won’t take it back.”
But Paris wasn’t having ANY OF IT. She KNOWS WHAT SHE’S DOING.
“he was caught in underbrush and bleeding. i know what i’m doing.” she wrote.
Another Instagram user commended Paris on what she was doing, writing: “You’re doing a good thing, that bunny is big enough to already be weened and if you had not found it, it may not have survived. Thank you for doing your part to protect all the critters in our world.”
Paris responded by adding that she had saved the animal from predators native to Southern California, explaining “there are coyotes in my area.”
Paris then posted a second photo showing the baby bunny settling into its new hutch filled with sawdust, hay, and some tasty treats.
Her caption read: “update: Toke is alive and well and making himself at home.”
Hmmm. We shall see if Paris really knows about the care and feeding of wild rabbits or if the little guy is DOOMED.
The story is, as they say developing… (via Daily Mail)
