I’ve had it with American Horror Story, btw. Last night’s episode INFURIATED me. I thought the Zachary Quinto character was OFFENSIVE BEYOND BELIEF. Repugnant. Set gay people back 20 years. It was a glimpse into the darkest corners of writer-director Ryan Murphy’s secret self-loathing self, and I just felt his GAY SHAME. Yuck. It’s like all his gay characters are either flaming martyrs (KURT HUMMEL), violent closet-cases (KAROFSKY) and now bitchy power bottoms. ENOUGH WITH THE GAY CLICHÉS! Either do us a solid and make multi-dimensional characters, or stop writing them altogether. And while you’re at it, stop going to gay award shows and grandstanding like you’re Eva Peron on the Casa Rosada. You are not our savior. Not with crap like this.
Also, Zachary Quinto, you were nothing but a modern-day Stepin Fetchit last night, and you should be ashamed. Why, just a couple of weeks ago you said to New York magazine about FINALLY coming out of the closet: “I believe in the power of intention to change the landscape of our society — and it is my intention to live an authentic life of compassion and integrity and action.” AND THIS IS THE ROLE YOU CHOSE TO SHOW THAT INTEGRITY? Yuck, yuck, yuck.
