Yes, it was one year ago today that I wrote my first post for the Wow Report. “DOMA’s Doomed… But We’ve Got Hope.” DOMA was overturned that very day and I was thrilled on many counts. I went to the Stonewall Inn, where it all started (45 years ago this Saturday) to take this picture. I quoted my Congressman, Rep. (D) Sean Patrick Maloney, who was overwhelmed;
“I just called Randy [Florke] to congratulate him on the Supreme Court ruling and, well, choked up. Guess I didn’t really believe until right now — after 21 years and 3 kids, we can be married legally under federal law. God bless America!”
Well kids, last weekend they did JUST THAT and here are the pictures to prove it. Don’t they make a sweet family? Congrats to them both and their kids Essie, Daley & Jesus. So, with as much bad news as there is in the world, we should count our blessings and see just how far we’ve come, right?
Big thanks to Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Wolfe and James St. James for their friendship (and patience) over the last twelve months of writing on such a wide variety of topics (Over 1400 posts and counting!) So, happy Pride to everyone at The World of Wonder and all of the loyal Wow readers out there! For once, I really am proud. (Today is my mother’s birthday, too. Happy Birthday, Mom!)
