This week in New York, Valentino unveiled the first-of-its-kind 3D virtual exhibit at a party at the Museum of Modern Art. The “museum” part of the Valentino Virtual Museum is an app that, when downloaded, highlights more than 300 of Valentino’s most famous designs, as well as fashion shows, portraits and video interviews. According to the New York Times: “While it includes only a fraction of the work Valentino created over more than 40 years, the museum shows many of the pieces in exceptional detail, with 360-degree views, the ability to zoom in on fabrics, and links to original sketches and photographs of celebrities wearing the clothes.” In other words, it’s like a video game for fashion nerds. At the party, the designer appeared upbeat and ambulatory, despite having been embalmed earlier in the day. Also there: Sarah Jessica Parker, a wax statue of socialite Michelle Harper, Claire Danes, and Courtney Love. (via Hotel Fashionland)
