Yesterday, Trump struggled to lift a glass of water during his speech to graduates at West Point.
Trump started to lift the glass with his right hand but seemed unable to get it all the way up to his lips, so he used his left hand to steady the glass and tilt it into his mouth.
He also had difficulty pronouncing the name of World War II‘s General Douglas MacArthur. (But that’s really nothing new…)
And after a low energy speech, Trump looked somewhat unsteady as he walked down a ramp. The incidents took barely a few seconds but there was an instant reaction on social media.
One recalled a time when Trump rival, Senator Marco Rubio repeatedly sipped from a water bottle during a speech.
Despite the jokes, Trump’s health is a topic of intense interest and even some medical professionals believe the tics are signs of potentially serious medical problems.
Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale psychiatrist wrote on Twitter,
“This is a persistent neurological sign that, combined with others, would be concerning enough to require a brain scan.”
Of course Trump had an excuse, although he didn’t mention the water glass incident,
“The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery.
The last thing I was going to do is ‘fall’ for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!”
But he never explained why during a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, Trump appeared unable to stand still and some noted he had trouble lifting a wreath with his right arm.
Trump SAYS he’s in perfect health. He turns 74 today. I don’t wish anyone ill, but to say “Happy Birthday”, that would be not be my wish for him. One meme (below) surfaced after the above that events reveal my exact sentiment.
Today on the internet, #ObamaDay is trending…

Rough day for Trump as he deteriorates from dementia. He had difficulty w/ his speech & balance. Watch when he secures his arms on his gut- his balance loss worsens bc he can’t use his arms to compensate. It’s a vicious circle.
