New York Fashion Week was featuring, among other things, a new Miley Cyrus look (or two…or three…)
Twice a year the fashion savvy descend on the city, and Cyrus was among them last week. Just a month after the August announcement that she and Liam Hemsworth were separating, she sat front row at Tom Ford.
According to Vanity Fair,
The all-black ensemble was a little bit Courtney Love, a little bit Mick Jagger. The cut of everything was oversized and slouchy. The hat was furry, a playful backward glance to recent versions of Cyrus, ones where she and Hemsworth had their whole lives ahead of them. She looked cool and hot and broody in the way you might dream of looking cool and hot and broody after you and your husband announce your impending divorce to the world. It’s Sandy’s transformation in Grease, except instead of going from prep to greaser, she’s gone from young, married, and wild to a wealthy woman who’s taken to smoldering urbanity. She looks like she smokes a pack a day, but in the ’90s when it was a good thing.
Then the next day she wore some slouchy black pieces that Real Housewife Lisa Rinna called on Instagram,
“Hot”
For the memorial service for Oribe, beloved hairstylist it was an appropriate all black look with the long-sleeve, body-hugging, deep-V.
She was later accompanied by her new girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter (yes, the one she was making out with by a pool in Italy a month ago) was dressed in a leather skirt and oversized blazer to match. Carter is recently separated too (though she and ex Brody Jenner were never legally married) so she got the memo on post-break-up style.
Her three EPs She Is: Miley Cyrus will be disbursed throughout the year (one is already out), so she was due for a new corresponding look. And Thursday her new anthem with Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey for the Charlie’s Angels reboot dropped.
Watch.
