Kanye West just debuted both his new album T.L.O.P. (a.k.a. The Life of Pablo, formerly known as Waves and Swish) and “Season Three” of his Yeezy fashion line at Madison Square Garden, no less. According to Vox, even if you weren’t inside MSG, but had planned to watch the show via the live stream, your changes were sketchy as the feed was not available to all who tuned into the beleaguered Tidal. (They’ve had three huge releases in a row with Rhianna, Beyoncé and now Kanye, but still seem to struggle to get an audience.) But the entire Kardashian clan (including Caitlyn Jenner & baby North) came clad in beige & white Balmain, to what was apparently one of the most elaborate (and stranger) events that Kanye’s ever put together.
There were VERY strict instructions for the models (which is usual), but considering the effect, you’d think a simple,
might have sufficed. The two-hour event WAS an endurance test of sorts for the models and the audience. Rapper Young Thug took the opportunity to catch some zzz’s.
At one point, Kanye did a song all about Kanye (Shocker.) Yes, apparently, T.L.O.P. also features lyrics that boast about how great Kanye is. (Really?) One such line targeted Taylor Swift:
“I feel like me and Taylor might have sex. I made that bitch famous.”
The spectacle was a big goulash of celebs (Anna sat next to Kim) music (you could call it that) fashion show (more like styling and standing) & ego (there was more than enough of THAT) held at the most famous concert venue on the planet. How is none of that at all surprising?
