In a frothy 14-minute speech in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, today, Rick Santorum announced he was dropping out of the presidential race. “We made a decision to get into this race at our kitchen table, against all the odds, and we made a decision over the weekend that while this presidential race is over for me, and we will suspend our campaign effective today, we are not done fighting.” I’m not sure this is actually good news though. Weren’t we sort of hoping he’d keep fighting all the way to the primary, divide the party, cause more hard feelings, and ultimately help Obama? And aren’t we a little nervous that no matter how much everyone hates Mitt, the Republicans now have time to reconcile their fate and rally around him? I despise the hate-mongering ass-hat as much the next guy, but now that he’s gone, I’m a little nervous. (via HuffPo)
