In the pilot for the half-hour series Mystery Girls, wowlebrity Tori Spelling plays a former starlet – typecasting! – who gets roped into solving crimes with her former mystery TV show costar when a witness to a crime will only speak to the infamous Mystery Girls. Huh? Spelling and Single Ladies‘ Maggie Malina serve as executive producers (so how is it Spelling couldn’t get the show title changed to MysTori Girls?). The pilot was written by Shepard Boucher based on a story by him and Spelling, who previously worked on another comedy series co-created by TS, So NoTORIous on VH1. You probably remember Spelling fondly for her 90210 gig; we here at World of Wonder remember her for the spate of shows we did with her, from Tori and Dean: Inn Love to Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
