Three and a half years after Olly Alexander’s previous record as Years & Years, Palo Santo, Night Call has been released with a video for the new song Crave. Between the two projects, the queer British pop artist joined Pet Shop Boys for a collaborative single Dreamland.
Alexander announced Night Call in autumn 2021. Alexander:
“‘Crave’ is a playful way of inhabiting the deranged sexual energy I’ve always wanted. In the past I felt like I’ve been dominated by toxic relationships, and I felt like it would be fun to turn it on its head.”

It’s the third album from Years & Years, following Palo Santo and Communion (2015). Years & Years is now the solo project for Alexander; previously, the group also featured Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen.
Also from Night Call, Years & Years joins Galantis, the Swedish electronic dance music songwriting and DJ duo, Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw, for Sweet Talker. The tune tackles a stereotype that we’re all too familiar with: the person who’s all talk and no action. You know the type. Watch:
