It’s actually difficult to watch, she’s so nasty. In the video below, married pop stars and New Zealand X Factor judges Natalia Kills and Willy Moon mercilessly taunt a contestant named Joe Irvine on live TV after his performance of “Cry Me a River.” Watch as they circle their prey and go in for the kill…
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m just gonna state the obvious,” Kills said. “We have a doppelgänger in our midst. I am disgusted at how much you have copied my husband.”
…referring to the fact that that the contestant… is wearing a suit? Like her husband? WHATEVER.
Moon chimes in, describing him as:
“Norman Bates dressing up in his mother’s clothing. I feel like you’re going to stitch someone’s skin to your face and then kill everybody in the audience.”
Poor little guy. Irvine sort of sits there with a dazed look on his face the whole time, hoping against hope that it’s all some sort of joke. Finally, a third judge jumps into the fray and defends him. It’s slightly too little, too late, but you’re just glad it’s over.
Both Kills and Moon have since been given the boot, according to the New Zealand Herald.
MediaWorks CEO Mark Weldon issued the following statement on the decision:
Last night on X Factor both Kills and Moon made comments that were completely unacceptable. While the judges on X Factor are expected to provide critiques of the performances, we will not tolerate such destructive tirades from any of the judges. Contestants put their all into this competition and they should expect to receive feedback and criticism that is professional and constructive. We no longer have confidence that Kills and Moon are the right people to perform the role of X Factor judges and they will leave the show, effective immediately
While Joe Irvine had THIS to say.
Thank you all so much I’m so exhausted I’ve tried to read every1s messages you are all amazing pic.twitter.com/vCqoSN3fPJ
