On this week’s My Strange Addiction, we meet 28-year-old Jaye from Houston who can’t get enough baby powder. Her addiction began, she says, when she accidentally spilled powder as a youngster and inhaled it by mistake. Over the past 16 years her addiction has spiralled out of control, and she estimates that she has snorted 1,125 pounds – around half a ton – of powder since her obsession began. Now, as someone who has snorted a lot of talcum powder in my day (and baking soda and baby laxative and vitamin B12 and Anesthnetol and Lidocaine and Italian baby milk powder and Ephedrine and whatever else my dealer decides will be the ingredient du jour), I can honestly say WTF, HONEY. Why would you ever CHOOSE to snort something that basically DOES NOTHING and probably just leads to aspiration pneumonia? My mind is honestly boggled. Other strange addictions featured this season on My Strange Addiction: a woman addicted to smelling mothballs, a man who can’t stop having sex with his car, a woman who drinks five bottes of NAIL POLISH a day (not nail polish remover, she actually places the nail polish brush on her tongue, then licks it clean), and a woman who eats TV remote controls. Fabulous stuff.
