H&M just announced its upcoming collaboration with Mugler, launching online and in selected stores this Spring.
H&M’s creative advisor, Ann-Sofie Johansson, joined Casey Cadwallader, creative director of Mugler to create the affordable version of the brands signature body positive looks.
The retailer has a history of teaming up with some of the biggest designer brands in the fashion industry;
- Karl Lagerfeld in 2004
- Comme des Garçons in 2008
- Versace in 2011

Besides the best-selling fragrance Angel, this collaboration will provide yet another opportunity bring the name Mugler to the masses.
The late, much-missed Joan Rivers said of the H&M/ Versace collaboration on Fashion Police,
I think it’s fabulous that Donatella Versace is doing a line for H&M –now anyone can look like a hundred year-old prostitute…“
Don’t get mad at me, Joan said it –and she’s dead! (And ICYMI, Michael Kors‘ parent company now owns Versace.)
Cadwallader was appointed creative director of Mugler in 2017. When he launched his debut collection, he told Vogue that he wanted to
start a conversation around what powerful modern femininity means.”
The fashion blockbuster Thierry Mugler: Couturissme is at The Brooklyn Museum through May 7.
