Wait. What? Who? Miss Fame and… Joan Collins? Yes, yes, I read that correctly.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race season 7 standout and the Dynasty legend have joined with Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup line to roll out of the brand’s Airbrush Flawless Foundation and Magic Vanish Colour Correctors.
“Well hello there, I’m in good company today,” Fame said in a video posted to Instagram today.
Yes,” Joan Collins responded. Yes indeed. “We both are.”
“I absolutely adore you!” Fame says.
“You do?” Collins asks. “Good, nice to see you!”
The project comes only a few months after Fame moved to Paris full time to pursue her career in fashion and beauty, having officially left the performance stage. At the beginning of August, she announced that she had left Wilhelmina Models but is still represented by IMG. She also took the opportunity to write about her experiences in the industry.
“After 3 years signed to IMG Models I was [repeatedly] asked to be patient while I watched the industry book queer talent off of the desire to look inclusive,” she wrote in a Story at the time. “Meanwhile being told I wasn’t wanted for numerous projects because I didn’t fit the [client’s] image (to which I could accept), that’s fashion! Not to mention they would offer a [reduced] rate, considering Queer artist are often asked to do the entire look for themselves while models have full teams and command 5 – 10x that of their Queer counterpart (speaking from experience).”
Fame became the firstt drag queen signed to the IMG Models women’s board in 2016, followed later by Aquaria.
