The World of Wonder team from RuPaul’s Drag Race (minus RuPaul who was in New York doing promo for his new talk show and a sick Ross Mathews) took over the Wolf Theatre in North Hollywood Thursday night for a for For Your Consideration panel, performance and reception.
Moderator Dino Ray Ramos asked Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Emmy-winning costume designer Zaldy, and executive producers Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Tim Palazzola, Mandy Salangsang and Steve Corfe,
“What does the future hold for RDR..?”
“Maybe Zac Efron could come one day…?
It’s really a story of people just trying to be the best at something that they love. And humor doesn’t hurt. The show has such a great sense of humor and that’s very endearing. The culture has caught up to the show. It’s always been about celebrating these amazing individuals who color with all the crayons in the box. … People have caught up to that idea. It’s a joyful show.” –Carson Kressley
“It’s a show for sweet sensitive souls. Drag Race underneath it all, is about the tenacity of the human spirit. People who against all odds become the realization of their imagination.” –Exec. Producer, Tom Campbell
“Ten more seasons, 12 more seasons?… Maybe a face lift in between…
This is a show about queer people, made my queer people for queer people… they have a family and they are not alone…
It’s about their art and art is always reflecting whats going on in society and that’s why it always stays so fresh and can always continue on because the queens will always have something smart and beautiful and sassy and bitchy to say about what’s going on in the world.” –Michelle Visage
