In his latest video skewering gay life, Michael Henry takes on gays wary of getting the COVID vaccine, but who have no problem partying in Puerto Vallerta.
Michael runs into his friend Randy who has just returned from said circuit party in Mexico “sharing a 3 bedroom house with 25 guys” and who keeps repeating about the COVID vaccine,
“I’m not getting it. Who knows what’s in it..?”
Michael responds,
“Honey, you smoke cigarettes. I’ve seen you do key bumps at the urinal. You’ve been known to take those little blue penis pills they sell at the gas station checkout… You’re already doing all these risky, potentially life-shortening things but you’re against getting inoculated..?
My brain is leaking out of my skull. You’re making it do that.”
Like they say, it’s funny because it’s true…?
Watch.
This was originally posted on Queerty and I’m pretty sure Michael Henry’s intention was to enlighten, as well as amuse. But reading the comments (something I always warn against, but dared to here) was eye-opening.
One commenter, xiphoid76, said,
“Just screams of jealousy. If people want to travel, let them.
As long as they are safe and smart then good for them. We have to stop the shaming in the gay community, it is terrible and we should know better. Be smart. If you are healthy and want to travel for your mental health and to support the economy then do so. If you are concerned or around people you feel are at risk then do not. It is simple.
The shaming and jealousy of those who choose to live their life as they wish has got to stop.”
To which KiwiJello replied,
“Screams of selfish entitlement. I have no choice to but go out to run errands for my 72 year old mother.
I am being safe, but what if I run into someone who chooses to put others at risk? Too bad? I know two people who have died of Covid and four others who are still trying to recover. They didn’t go out. It was BROUGHT to them. This attitude of doing what you want, when you want, with no regard for others is disgusting. They deserve shame. Go ahead and clap back and make excuses, but it’s killing people. There is no jealousy. That is a pathetic justification.
It is shameful to put other people at risk. It’s selfish, shameful, and frankly, stupid. I hope no one you love dies.”
